How is the book progressing

I wanted to update my subscribers on where we are with the book.
Ally is still in the first draft stage. I’m at about 42,000 words and expect to round off the book somewhere in the vicinity of 100,000 words—give or take a couple of thousand. After I complete the first draft of the book, I plan to go through it with a fine tooth comb doing a second draft; hopefully, I won’t need to do a third. Then I will be looking for a beta reader. I’m currently looking for someone willing to do a beta read of Ally sometime during the early part of 2023. I’m thinking January or February; then, off to edit and proof. So, if you are up for the task or know of someone who you would recommend, please get in contact with me here or at steve@steveauthor.com.
The last time I published a book, I used a professional editor and was still green around the gills. I didn’t know what I was doing. The editor I chose did an atrocious job editing my book, and I spent my money foolishly. I had to pull it from Amazon and re-edit the book myself. After a year or so “in the biz” and asking many knowledgeable people many questions, I now understand the process much better than I did the first time.
So that’s about it. Remember, if you have any questions about me or my book, please feel free to contact me here or on Instagram @cornerwriter
Thanks!
