Mission Texas
Ally’s story takes place in the picturesque town of Mission, Texas, A small town in the southernmost part of the state, just north of the Rio Grande and Mexican border. I chose this venue because Mission, apart from being a beautiful town, has one of the lowest crime rates in all of Texas, and is one of the most sought-after destinations in Texas. So I thought to have a female serial killer stalking the streets would be something a bit different for a town like Mission. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Ally is a killer and a savage killer at that; however, what I find most interesting about her is that she wasn’t always this way—she was driven to kill. We all have the capacity to kill given the right reason and motive and whether or not that person has anything to lose. When up against the wall and all has been taken from you, you have the potential to snap, and that’s exactly what happened to Ally.

I don’t think there is a moral court in the world that would convict Ally of a crime. Legally she’s guilty as sin; however, her killing is more than justified. You will fall in love with the Charles Bronson “Death Wish” vibe this book will give you—if you are old enough to remember the film, that is.
