To plan or not to plan

Updated: Sep 3, 2022

Are you planning on penning the next best seller? Maybe you want to #write your memoir. You hop on the internet and take a self-class on creative writing. Be careful; everyone has an opinion.

So, you are cruising at lightning speed looking for information to help you start your novel. Hmm? Should I plan my writing, or just wing it? When I say wing it, I want to say free write until you’ve vomited enough words onto the page and then you go back and edit. Rinse and repeat so to speak.

“free write until you’ve vomited enough words onto the page and then you go back and edit.”

I don’t plan

Why don’t I plan my #writing? Simple, I believe it quells #creativity. Another reason is that if I were to plan everything I wrote, I wouldn’t follow the plan anyway. That’s just the way I am. I would much rather to “bleed and wipe as needed” than to follow some ridged script. This is not to say that everyone thinks alike. If a plan‘s for you, use one.
